It seems to me that the L92 is a superior engine to the LS3. The L92 makes 403hp/417 torque with a single exhaust system and 87 octane tune while the LS3 makes 430hp/424 torque with free flowing dual exhaust and a higher octane tune. I'm sure if you put a free flowing dual exhaust system on a L92, it would make the same amount of power as the LS3 on 87 octane.
I guess the LS3 seems kind of pathetic when compared to the L92. It's like GM engineered the LS3 then made a bare bones variant of it for their line of trucks, but came up with a better engine that makes almost the same amount of power with simpler and cheaper means.
