i have a 2000 chevy s-10 pickup. i need to replace the fuel pump. i cut out a excess panel in the bed so i can get to the fuel pump without removing the fuel tank. my gas gauge doesnt work but i know that my gas tank it about 1/4 full. i need a srew driver and hammer to removel the fuel pump. my question is can i do this safley with some gas still in the tank?? and do i really need to replace the electric fuel pumps gasket are can i reuse the old one?
