I have a chevy Cavalier 95.
after driving the car for about 30 minutes at a stop light or sign the car dies out. It starts up again very well but once it is put into DRIVE or Reverse... and lifting foot off of the brake car dies out again. It stays running fine on Neutral. I was told it could be that the torque Converter needs to be replaced. does any one have an idea of what it might be?
OMG!! THANKS! i looked up this same question and i believe its the torque convertor!!

It's the converter lock up solenoid, in the tranny. Common failure. The part is around $35 and it's gonna have to go behind the side cover, inside the tranny. not too hard to replace.

it may need a tune up , fuel filter , air filter , and so on but try the lest expensive for starters
