1996 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 93300 miles
Hello,
My 96 Cavalier LS just had the check engine light pop on yesterday. I took it to a PepBoys Auto Store and the tested the engine code and got 'P1810' They said that it has something to do with the transmission. In addition to the Check Engine Light, the "ETS Off" (enhanced traction system) light came on as well. This happened while I was driving through a very windy road in the hills. Even before the check engine light went on, the car seemed to have less power than usual and the transmission seemed a bit 'jumpy' (RPMs were going up and down a bit randomly, possibly switching gears). The car still drives fine, and the transmission has been a bit rough for a while. Please help with my problem! Thank You!!

PS: When I'm driving and making a turn at an intersection, it often will 'rev' as I turn the wheel, the rpms will shoot up for a second or two as i'm turning...weird!
