Ok i have a 1998 Chevrolet k1500 ,5.7L ,gasoline, 350 cubic inch,SFI, truck and it seems to have some issues recently it has started to die out when i press the gas when its idling from a stop or going from reverse into drive and occasionally the rpm's go up and down from 600-1000 at idle its strange idk what the problem is but it dosent sound like a miss any ideas what this might be? i just replaced the fuel filter and new air filter...also 91 premium gasoline so idk what the problem is

The same thing happened to me with my k2500 3/4 ton 305...This is what i did... i replaced the fuel filter, and air filter. I ran fuel injection cleaner through it, and dry gas.... none of this worked...it ended up being that the fuel pump died and my fuel pressure was bad so it wasnt getting enough gas when i changed gears or used the pedal. Check your fuel pump and pressure...hope this helps...

this happened to my dads truck, he did the fuel rod filter too and air filter, nothing helped. chevys are lameeeee sorry i dont know what to say, he just took it to a shop

Could be the EGR valve, this usually will make it stall on idle as well though, not always but it will get really close. If not then it could be a idel air control valve which is part of the fuel injection or TBI system.
