Chevrolet Lumina main window switch?

I have a 1997 Lumina 4 door. I am curious that if the main window switch that controls all 4 windows is on the fritz then is it possible that the other switchs would malfunction also. What happens is that my husband on the passenger side will sometimes not be able to roll his window down same with my son sitting in the back. If I replace the main switch on the drivers side will that correct the problem or is it more like an electrical problem? The switch currently on the drivers side does not work at all unless I physically wiggle the wires underneath!!
 
Current has to pass through the master switch in order for the other switches to function. If you correct the problem with the master switch, then the other switches will most likely work fine afterward.
 
not really. you can have a bad switch on the other doors too. change the drivers side and see if you can work all the windows. even though your switch works it don,t mean they can work the window from their side. sounds to me like you need to replace all the switches.
