chevrolet 4x4 problem need help?

If it only does this while in 4 wheel drive it's probably the transfer case. Have it looked at at a Tranny shop.
 
Okay I got a 97 chevy k1500 4x4 problem. When going down the highway and shifting the 4wd to 4wd high it lights up and it engages. And then maybe 1 to 2 mins later of driving it makes a hard jerk from something, it almost feels as it slips into a lower gear or something. Not like 4wd low or nothing. But it just feels it slips to a lower gear and it makes a jerking sound loudly. What could be the problem?
 
first of all you should always stop your truck before putting it into 4 hi or low or anything other than what its already in. if you do that alot it could very well be the cause of your problem. also was it snowing? why would you need to go to 4 wheel drive while going down a highway? that puzzles me..... anyway without going under the truck i couldnt tell you for sure but the other guys there have some good possibilities. good luck
