chest pain

I am 22 years old...the last few years i have noticed every once in a while i would get sharp chest pain when taking deep breaths or if i laughed to hard. I really didn't think to much of it...but tonight out of no where i got this sharp stabbing pain under my left breast that lasted for about two minutes. The pain was continuous and was worsened if i took a deep breath.
I don't smoke...at that time i hadn't eaten in like six hours...should i be worried or is it nothing?
 
I don't have an answer to this, but you're getting the same as me(and I have just posted a thread too about mine!) let me know if you get any advice :)

I have gotten this type of pain off and on for 40 years. It has never caused me
any problems and I have had several MRIs and chest x-rays over the years.
They never found anything to explain it.

thanks for your comments. Still no luck though. I am not sure what it is. It comes and goes as it pleases. Let me know if you find anything out k!
 
I also get this pain, I have for years. My Doctor diagnosed it as referred pain from my neck. I don't think you need to be worried about it, it really does sound muscular or as I said being referred from your neck. In my case the neck problem is caused by tight muscles from sitting in the same position (sewing) for hours. You don't have to have any neck symptoms.
