2 weeks ago i woke up with a painful chest. it was hard to move.
I've been getting somewhat better but i still have chest pain and cramps. It gets better during the day, but everytime i wake up from a night's sleep...I feel sore and sprained again...

It doesn't seem to stop.

At first i thought it was only my old chest injury that was acting up..but it's actually sore and painful in the middle of the chest and on the sides.. which is not the location of my old injury.

And then it feels like a crampy sensation like the chest overstretches and then turns over. something like that.

What can i do? Should i see a doctor about this? what kind of doctor?

I would like to describe one pretty aweful and weird symtom too.
I'm sleeping and i'd wake up. and i notice my chest starts feeling crampy. like a gradual fast stretching of the ligament and then it snaps/cracks.

At the end of that gradual but quick stretch of the muscle it feels like my chest muscle is turning over.. yeah it's weird... and then it cracks. not audible. maybe just internal sound that i can feel.

That's awful. It's weird it feels like my chest is tearing up. then CRACK. But
so far i haven't felt that it does tear. i just feel LIKE IT WILL TEAR or turn over. Hard to describe.

And all this started happening 2 weeks ago, noticed it after i woke up.

This is just weird i can't get a good night sleep anymore. Everyday i either wake up with the described chest muscle flip sensation OR in the morning i wake up and all sore and painful.

With any type of chest pain I think you would want to rule our heart problems. Your primary doc should be able to tell you (after an examination) whether you need to see a cardiologist (heart specialist), orthopedic doc (for bones and muscular issues) or make some other determination. Wondering and worrying in itself can exacerbate whatever you are experiencing, so probably best to just check it out.

All the best,

Jen

Thanks. Well i already went to the Cardiologist a few months ago because i've had chest pain(the internal kind) since age 13 and a few months ago I had a sudden onset of pain again and i couldn't breath in, he checked me and also checked me with a machine, said i was cardiologically perfectly normal but that he would need to do more tests( which i don't have insurance for) cause can't really tell anything. He also said maybe it's not heart but could be lung problem.

Just to make it clear, i have two types of chest pains: internal where my breathing is affected...and muscle pain type.

But this question was referring to the muscle/ligament pain/sprain type because I'm getting cramps upon movement, and also soreness.

The other day DR. said i might have costochondritis.
But i'm not sure cause i don't feel tender spots upon touch and i can breath fine.
