Let me first start off by saying that I am 19, and I have had atrial fibrillation in the past. After receiving an electric cardioversion, I started having chest pain about 2 days after(don't know if there is any correlation or not). For about a year, I dealt with this dull, non-overbearing chest pain until I could see a cardiologist. She found only extra heart beats which she prescribed metoprolol for, but upon expressing my concern to her about chest pain, she prescribed me an antacid which has not been overly effective, unfortunately. Of late, however, I have been feeling less of a "dull" pain and more of a localized pain. This, once again, is not overbearing, but I can recreate the pain when swallowing larger portions of water/food or if I burp a certain way.
Coupling with this chest pain is this slight "tightness" in my lungs. It only slightly hinders my quality of breathing and does not occur consistently through the day. I have found no trends as to when the "tightness" arises; however, I do find that it is worse upon exertion. I have had this tightness in my lungs for a while, and I have been able to expel small amounts of clear congestion all the while.
After going to my GP, he thought that it might be treatable with a stronger antacid, and he thought that my respiratory problems could be asthma. I am skeptical of the antacid treatment, but I do think the asthma idea is legitimate.
I honestly don't think any of this is cancerous. I, at first, tried to give myself a scare by convincing myself it was Lymphoma or something, but I think it is pretty typical of human nature to fear the worst
.
I would appreciate input on this. It is just very bothersome to go from peak of health to health problems that subtly haunt you everyday!
Thanks you very much,
-Pat
