I'm stuck on these two questions. They are similar, but a step-by-step on either/both would be really helpful! Thanks in advance...

1. A 3.40g sample of a titanium compound dissolves in water to produce titanium ions and chloride ions. All the chloride ions in the solution are precipitated by the addition of excess silver nitrate solution and after filtration and drying, 9.47g of the silver chloride was obtained. What is the empirical formula of the compound?

2. An organic compound consisting of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen was analyzed by combustion. Complete combustion of 0.290g of the compound gave 0.660g of carbon dioxide and 0.270g of water. Calculate the empirical formula of the compound.
