Do any of you have any stories about how you have dealt with awkward or rude customers?

I used to be a waiter at this old restaurant.
Its not that classy its sorta like the regular diner.
But the food was expensive so mostly the customers are more to the richer side than the average.
Mostly they can be mad at weird stuff like "this chicken got no chili ,wheres the chili?" or "Apologize to us cause you're late".
But sometimes some customers are just testing you on your skills.
I used to remember my sis testing a waitress at this restaurant , she only asked a few question like "what's today special?" and "is it tasty?"
and guess what? she was staggering like hell, i don't know what happened but then she called the other waitress for help.
Its weird but one thing i can say is..
there's a lot of type of humans in this world.. some weird , some aren't
and if you're new at the food business, just dealt with it. Cause at the end of the day , they're still normal human like you

To be honest with you as a customer, I've put up with some really nasty piece of work of watiers/waitresses (I am not saying all waiters/waitresses).
For instance once I was talking to a group of friends about Zimbabwe, none of them agreed with what I was saying, no problem, we are all adults and enjoying a meal. But the waiter obviously also did not agree and punched my arm and walked away. That's just one example.

Honestly, no matter how rude or weird they are being, as a server, think to yourself, "What is the easiest solution to this problem?" If they don't like their meal, offer to take it back and get something else. If they think their food is taking too long, politely explain that sometimes the kitchen gets backed up. Even if they are completely out of line, you have to suck it up and try to fix the problem. When a guest is really upset, I always get the manager. Customers - you have to remember, it's just dining out, not a life or death matter. Relax, enjoy your food and company. In the scheme of things, your burger is not THAT important!
