Checking the condition of a dodge diesel?

I'm going to be looking at a 1995 Dodge 2500 12v with 377k miles. Yes 377k miles. I know these engines go awhile so what things should I look at to insure this truck has been well maintained and is mechanically sound? Thanks
 
first drive it if you see a lot of blueish white smoke that is the injectors or the pump. then check to see if all the steering and suspension is tight. then the u joints and so on. now back to the engine, if you see oil around any part of the turbos exhaust then that means that the turbo is going out and will need replaced just look and see if its been kept clean and tidy then some one has taken care of it so then i would say its ok
