check engine light on, 96 ford ranger?

I have a 1996 ford ranger single cab manual, with the 2.3l 4cylinder engine. Now, when i went to get it smogged i parked it and the check engine light wasnt on but he pulled it into the garage and it turned on...oh well. But heres my question, he checked the codes and it said it was a p1359(spark output circuit malfunction) how can i correct this, or what needs to be done to correct it? thanks
