cheap car insurance for a 2000 Ford Taurus?( Las Vegas)?

i just bought my mother in law's car for $1,000. i just got my license last year, am 23 years old, and this is my first car. I don't want to spend a lot because the car is 10 years old and it shouldn't need full coverage?? can anyone tell me what is normal to pay in my case? i got quoted $730 for 6 months through progressive... seems like too much!!!
