HI, I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer, AWD but, today I experienced this chattering sound seemed like from the front driver's side tire area. I noticed a loud chattering which also lead to the steering wheel shaking left to right for about 500 ft or so. After that it ran fine, about a half hour later I experienced the same problem again, loud chattering, steering wheel shaking and it continued to do it when I slowed down. Then, all the sudden again it stopped doing it. I really need help with this as its my only vehicle. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks in advance!
