chat screen with verizon texting?

Well, my friends have sprint and alltel. Well, when they get a text, they can click a button that says chat and it will show up like an IM screen like ex:
Me: Hi
Audrey: Hey What's up
Me: Nothing u?

etc. Can u do that verizon? If u can how can u?
Please answer I appreciate it!
