chat relationship: Does he like me or we are just friends?

I met this guy 3 months ago and from day one we start chatting and messaging each other everyday. we even called each other couple of times. I really really like him and he knows that, but when i asked him why he is messaging me he told me cause I'm a nice person (I always help him with his zillion problems) Now what... does this mean he likes me or we are just friends? what should I do, should I stop messaging and move on?
 
Simply ask him what he thinks about you? Does he see you as his GF? A potential GF? Or just a friend. It's as simple as that.
