Don't shot me...but I thought the original was good...but never fantastic. I'll be looking forward to see how this new one pans out...:look:

thank you! SARCASTIC is what I would call the book! You put it into words, what I was trying to articulate!

I liked the remake...but the original is so dear to my heart.....I've been watching it since I was little, and know it word for word...

I adore the book, and I enjoy it even more now than I did as a kid. I definitely recommend reading it! I don't think the book is that much darker than the film, it's just more sarcastic and a lot stranger...like there are squirrels shelling nuts instead of geese laying golden eggs.

I wouldn't exactly call this movie a "remake" it's just another version of the original text. I just hope it's well done, because a version that will be truer to the book would be amazing.

hahahahh there fantastic

i dont like the oompas tho

thats just wrong changing it so much

*sigh*

JD looks hilarious

See, I think that alot of people are going to be thinking that this is a copy of the original movie....which was very "70s". It was stylistically placed in that point in time.

I think that this remake will have influences from our "time" more or less...(That made sense before I typed it, really...)

I won't be expecting Johnny Depp to be doing a Gene Wilder impersonation.

I think I'll reread the book before I see it, too.

Hopefully It won't have the same/or any music, to further separate it from the original.

You know, I'm a great fan of Gene Wilder. I'm not too sure if Johnny can surpass what he did with his role. Although, I'm really anxious to see what Tim Burton cooks up :D

I wanna see it. I'm not a big fan of the original so chances are I'll like the remake better

Almost all classic movies are remade...Look at Little Women..
Not all remakes are bad, IMO...Little Women is a prime example of that.

I am going to reserve judgement of this movie until I see it.

Edited to add:Imdb link

:D
