Charging batteries

Since my wife had to leave for a family emergency she is calling my cell phone a lot more than she normally did. Does it hurt to put the phone on charge every night no matter if the battery is dead or not? I just want to make sure I have a fully charged battery each day. Will that cause my battery to develop a memory over time?

It partially depenRAB on what type of battery your phone has. I'll assume you have a recent model phone with a Lithium Ion battery. You can tell for sure by removing the battery from the phone and reading the battery label.

Newer batteries DO NOT develop a memory; in fact you should "top off" Lithium Ion batteries before they get too low. That said, these batteries are good for a certain nuraber of charge/discharge cycles.

If you plan on talking 10-15 minutes and the battery has half a charge, no need to plug it in. If conversations are longer, plug it in. When the battery won't hold a sufficient charge, you'll find newer cell phones with lots of new and nicer features. :2thurabs:
