Characters you hated until,,

Has there ever been a character you hated on a show but then they redeem themselves and you finding yourself liking them? For me it would be flash on justice league/unlimited. At first i hated the goofy wisecracks he made (especially the O.J. Simpson reference in "in blackest night") but the way he was able to (temporarily) stop the justice lords in "a better world" gave me more respect for him, and his fight with brainthor in "divided we fall" made me stop all my flash hatred, and in fact, 2 of my fav eps of the series are flash eps (flash and substance and the great brain robbery).

Here's some that I know:

Mandy(B&M) - When I first saw the show, I used to hate her with her always bashing on Grim & ruining his life, but she did redeem herself (a little) which got me to liking her like the Pandora episode & the movie when she finally showed her soft side on Billy.

Toph(Avatar) - When I first saw her on the show, I hated her at first with her being a jerk on Aang & Katara when the gang first met her, until further she redeemed herself & cared on helping Aang get stronger on learning many Firebending moves & battling the bad guys by showing up her amazing Earthbending powers which got me to liking her.

Stewie(Family Guy) - When Family Guy first came, I didn't like him at first when he's really evil & sadistic on killing poor Lois, but until when the show came back after cancellation, he actually redeemed himself by showing soft sides more often to Brian mostly (except for the Tom Brady ep.) which got me to liking him being my most favorite character in the show.

When the Teen Titans series premiered on CN, 2 characters I didn't like on it were Robin and Raven. I still had the mental image of the Super Friends Robin burned in my head, so when this show came along, my initial response was, "Why the heck is Batman's goofy sidekick the leader of the team? He's a dork with no superpowers!" I had to cast my memory back and do some research to remember that Robin was one of the Founding Five Titans from the original comics, along with Wonder Girl (who I really wished they could have used on the show), Speedy, Kid Flash and Aqualad. To update the story, Robin went on to become my 2nd favorite Titan on the show (after Cyborg).

As for Raven, when the show began, I thought Raven was a stuck-up little b/witch who thought she was better than everybody else. Her attitude and snide remarks really bugged me. I didn't think the character had any redeeming qualities until season 4. I'm still not a "fan" of Raven per se, but now that I have a little more insight into her character, I can appreciate her more.

Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist seemed like a one sided bad guy until they revealed a bit of his past. I began to feel bad for him, and even began to like the character after a while.
Yes, he was sick, but something about him just drew me in.

At first I hated Master Shake in Aqua Teen Hunger Force because I've never seen such a jackass of his caliber in animation before.

He redeemed himself however when I 'got' the show, despite the fact that he never changes for the better.

Ironic. I hate the new Stewie. Not really hate, but he used to be my favorite during the first 2 seasons when he went through his megalomaniac phase, but now, my fav is Brian.
