Channel 4 show where 10 contestants had to stay awake for a week.

Sort of, but I don't think it ever turned out to be what people were expecting. IIRC, they actually had to start letting the contestants have little mini-naps, on the advice of doctors.

I remember it too! In retrospect, I can't believe I actually watched this; it sounRAB so boring.

I did find it interesting though and I can't believe some contestants lasted more than 50 hours! I don't think I could last more than 24 hours.

On a tangent, does anyone remember a show called Space Cadets, where people think they are actually going into space even though they did not. I liked that show better.

I only watched the last episode, where the producers put them in a room with comfortable beRAB in complete darkness and the last one to fall alseep won.

I do remember Space Cadets, it was quite good although I didnt buy into the whole fact that the contestants were unaware they weren't in Space. However, after watching the "reveal" it was quite convincing as they were thick as pig poop.

Space Cadets had it's own RAB sub-forum..........it was brilliant !

The forum I mean, the show was pretty good as well...........

I even think Shattered had it's own sub-forum as well..........

RTV used to be popular back in those days............

I remember Shattered...just.

Space cadets I remember watching and quite enjoying. Particularly the way the actors kept doing amazing things and none of the muppets worked it out.

I remember it well : it was almost like Big Brother set in a laboratory.

I recall the girl that won was a good looking lass in her early 20s and she beat two blokes on the final day.

They didn't literally remain awake for ten days though....I think they were allowed 30 minutes or one hour's sleep a day or something.

Not at all. If you read books on psychology, quite a few people have stayed awake for much longer. I honestly thought they stayed awake for real. I remember discussion at the time along the lines of it was a failure because they just couldn't achieve it.

Not at all. If you read psychology books, people have stayed awake for longer. Some suffer bad effects; others none. I thought this was a real experiment. Seems a bit silly to let them nap. Ah well!
