Is this something that can be done at home or do I need to take this to a mechanic. What tools do you need to do this job?

If memory serves... front bearings are a press fit into the hubs, and will need a good press in order to get them out and install the new ones efficiently. Rear bearings are not press fit (again if memory serves) So, depending on your level of skill, you may just want to take to a shop and have them do in order to speed things up and reduce the chance of a problem in your driveway. Good luck.

if you are not mechanically inclined or know very little about cars, take to a shop. if you feel like you can do it, get a book on the car and follow the instructions
