Changing the default media player for downloaded internet files?

If I download a file off of the internet it automatically opens in my trial version of WinDVD, which has expired. How do I change it so all files are auto-played on windows media player? I don't want to save them on my PC and manually change them, I just want them to defaultly open in WMP. It used to do this before I installed the trial of WinDVD

Any help?
Windows XP btw.
