Changing or adding oil with custom exhaust interference

I check my oil level weekly and after every long ride. I did find out that with the new hk sideburners that it is impossible to do an oil check myself, just cannot see the site glass since the pipes land right in front of it. Since I have not bought a stand yet, I have had other purchases I deemed much more important like chrome items, I need a second person to hold the bike upright. Easy enough. Anyway, Friday I needed to add oil but could not reach that bottom shcs. I did not own a set of metric ball end allen wrenches, just the standard ones, so I bought a set. $20 for a starter set and I was sad cuz all I needed was the 5mm. I could just get the wrench "seated" in the bolt but as I turned it out the angle increased and getting the bolt out with the wrench became impossible. So now I need a super special custom stubby wrench. I took the 5mm and ground the short end down to 3/8" from the long straight. It worked perfect the bolt came out just fine. Put the cover back on stuck the new very expensive super special custom stubby wrench in my tool pouch and I am done. Just thought I would share in case anyone else has a similar problem.

BTW, I bought the allen set at NAPA here in St. Cloud and in this store they have an OCC chopper made for NAPA for sale. $30K I thought was pretty steep for a bike that looks fairly basic.

Have the same pipes on mine but I take mine to the dealer for oil change/service & the mechanic there said the same thing your talking about. He said that bottom bolt was a pain in the a** to get out.

If he had a super special custom stubby wrench it would be a breeze. Unfortunately for me I found a place that sells the ball end allen individually. Guess I should have shopped around more but I was anxious to ride. Just a thought though jhubb, what will you do if you only need to add 1/2 quart like me? Take it to the dealer?
