changes to the street glide

I've ridden an 08 with stage 1 and Rinehart slip ons and just picked up my bone stock 06 yesterday. I couldn't tell any difference at all in the ride or handling. The 08 seemed more powerful, but mine is in the shop getting stage 1 and true duals today. That should solve that issue. Good luck, you will love the SG.

96" + 6 speed tranny's came out in 07 not 08. Stay 07 and up if you can get the good price. If you can shovel it out go 09 and up for the frame. At least that's the three main lookers in my opinion. Of course ABS etc. but stay with 07 and get the 96 and 6 speed or 09 and get the same with a new frame that gets huge reviews and comments from owners.

Perfect info thanks! I agree any street glide in comparison to the sportster is going to be a change but as long as i can afford it im gonna try for the upgraded 08/09 version. thanks again!

I think that answer really depends on your budget, You can be happy with an older bike if it means you can still pay the bills.

Funny, i love my 06 SG, I recall when the 07's came out everyone bitched about the 96 and the 6 speed as the gearing was all wrong, and they had some strange whine etc etc. and the 96 really did not have much more power, now everyone here is saying the 96 and 6 speed is the cats ass? frankly i got my 06 over the 07 cuz it had no smog and I was concerned about that at the time.
