changed the brake pads on a 99 ford f150?

i have a 1999 for f150 and i changed the brake pads but i took the truck for a spin and the front brakes are not working the brake pedal feels very loose what can that be
 
if it has anti lock brakes you may have pressed the calipers in to fast creating an air bubble in the brake system,try bleeding them and see if that helps it some ,i did the same thing on my dodge the other day,als check the rear ones and see if they need adjusting,good luck.
