I'm 51 years old and for the last year have suffered with acne! Never had it as a teenager, in fact hardly ever suffered with spots so when I started getting outbreaks of acne I was mortified. And it really had an effect on my confidence and self esteem. Doctors advice was that it was due to hormone changes because of the menopause so I suppose its very similar to teenagers with their hormone issues!!

I had it on my face and occassionally I would get outbreaks on my back. I took loaRAB of advice from various resources but just ended up getting confused and spending money on creams and vitamin pills that really didnt work. There was so much conflicting information but the one piece of advice that kept coming back to me was 'diet'.

I bought a book on acne and followed the dietry advice religiously and it seems to have worked. Ive cut out various fooRAB that are 'No Go' areas and lost a bit of weight too!! So my advice would be change your diet and stop spending money on creams that don't work:wave:

This message gets drowned out, but at the end of the day, most things that are wrong with us are due to diet. The body fights to eliminate the garbage we put into it, and will take the path of least resistance (because sometimes people are so constipated, waste can't be released through normal the channel). For some people it's the face, or boils on or under the skin etc. It (waste) will store in joints, organs and tissues of the body. If you want to be well, you'll have to do some research and educate yourself about the relationship between food and health, or in most cases sickness. Remeraber, doctors don't know much about nutrition, and are not in the business of healthcare. They are in the business of sickcare. ...And, there's a lot of money in that business. Most things can be cured through a change of diet. Period. That being the case, anything else should be viewed as a supplement. You have to do the work and exercise the discipline of controlling your appetite for meat, sweets, processed fooRAB, dairy, and of course chemicals. Do yourself a favor and help your body heal itself (because it will, if you stop fighting it unwittingly with garbage fooRAB).
It's tough love, only because we are sooo spoiled. But, it works, when nothing else will.

Changing diets can indeed prevent or reduce existing inflammation, but one is not looking at the whole picture. What caused this food intolerance in the first place if it happened postpuberty?
