What do YOU think?

I'm writing an essay about how taste dictates the demand for certain media used in film.

I obviously have noticed since toy story there's been a huge boom in CGI animated movies and they still seem to be very popular.

However, with the approach of the upcoming disney movie, the princess and the frog, we have a hand drawn film...why is this? Are people now swaying back to traditional animation because it's been overlooked for a while?

Do you think people tend to start turning to things that are a rarity, but then as soon as everyone else catches on and it becomes popular culture, it becomes "low brow" taste to some so they go looking for the next slightly obscure, underground project?

I need some articles to back me up on this and I'm not sure how to begin my search! Thank you in advance for any help :)
