Cell phone reception

Though, I am aware reception depends on the service provider, I know cell phones can play a key role with reception as well. Does anyone know where I can obtain information regarding cell phone reception? Which phones receive better reception than others? I would like to upgrade to a new phone but want to conclude the reception is better than the current one I carry.

The only web sites that I know of, are sites like JD Power. They don't measure each phone type though, because that is way to complex to do. Your cell phone reception capabilities are based on so many factors. How you hold your phone, where you live, weather conditions, ect. So where let's say an LG would get better reception then a Moto in a select part of the nation; it wouldn't work as well somewhere else. Your best bet is to just search through phone reviews and then test drive the phones at a retail store. But just because a phone works well for one person, doesn't mean it would do the same for the next. So it would be impossible to gauge the best phone for each person.
