Recently 3 weeks ago I noticed that my phone would cut off during use in my house or at work! And I have full reception. During a phone call the phone would cut off, I can't hear the other side but they can hear me clearly yelling "what is wrong". About 2 minutes later, the phone wourld start working like normal! This was on my V3. So I decided to buy the Blackberry 8800. So I made the move and the problem still exist, so I changed the Sim Card for free after yelling at Rogers on the phone. Still the problem. I asked a few others and they claim they also have the issue sometimes. The thing is that I know it is not my phone, no way I can have 2 bad phones!
Its been 3 weeks!!!! Anyone else?

My question is...
1) Anyone else having this issue?
2) Is this a Rogers Network Problem or my phone?

since you bought the bb, have you done a battery pull/soft reset?
take out the battery, while phone is on, leave out for 30 sec, place battery back in and wait for bb to reboot. see if the problem persists...

Does the soft reset clear all the data, because I just finished fixing everything including the address book! The funny thing is that i tryed to type random password and after the tenth try, the phone restarted and the next thing I know, all the data was cleared, so now I learned my lesson to not do anything I dont know! haha. But the Motorola v3 was the same problem, not the Blackberry 8800, and its the second day, so I doubt Iam that unlucky to have 2 bad lemons!
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Also, is there a way to copy all the address book numbers to sim card? I tryed looking around the phone and couldnt find a way to!

Soft/Hard/Battery Pull whatever method you try to reset your BB, will not clear any data from the phone, it will re-initialize all the phone functions but the data stored will be kept.

Give it a try, all you can loose is minutes without receiving/making calls

And as for copying your contacts to the SIM card, if they were created/stored in your BB device memory you wont be able to copy them, because the data format used by BB is exactly or more similar to PDA's where you can store as much information from your contact as you want.

Instead the information kept in the SIM card is just about the name and one phone number of the contact to be created.

If i am wrong then an expert should help you better about this issue, as what i wrote about is my experience from standard phones, pdas and BB.

Well in my case i am not able to add more than one phone number to a contact saved/created on the SIM card, the question: Does it have to be to the type/memory SIM card offered by the Cell Phone Provider?, in my case is MOVISTAR (latin american).

On the other hand, correct me if i am wrong please, there is no way to copy a contact created inside the BB memory to the SIM card, at least on my pearl i do not find the option.

cheers

I had to yell at rogers for a new sim card. Im startin to really dislike rogers
