CD/DVD drive can read but not write?

Hey,
i have a toshiba satellite pro a210 laptop running windows XP
I have a mitshita UJ-850S DVD/CD Drive in it,

i can read Cd's and DVD's fine but no dvd/cd burning software will find the driver, i have tried nero, dvd santa, magic iso, nero drive speed ..
They all just say No CD/DVD Drive found

what could the problem be?
This started after my Hard Drive crashed and i got a new one
