CB radio antenna is whipping like crazy in the wind?

I have a 5' wilson silverload antenna mounted on my Jeep Wrangler's drivers side mirror. It's on a firestick spring designed for up to 5' antenna's. When I'm driving down the highway and the wind is coming out of the right direction the antenna starts to resonate and whip in a sort of S shape back and forth very very quickly and often starts to sound like a wood pecker as it hits the side of the Jeep. If I roll the window down and rest my finger lightly against the antenna, just barely touching it, the vibration will stop. It just needs a little something to absorb some vibration and stop it from resonating back and forth. Any suggestions on something that I can put on the antenna that might help it stop it from whipping so badly? I was wondering if perhaps putting a small object on the tip to create a bit more wind drag might help.. does that sound like something worth trying?
