caught in endless loop

Here I come

My palm tx ix caught in an endless loop. I clicked on an application, and, instead of it opening, the palm started to reboot. the screen where the bar moves across the bottom came up, then the screen that reads "palm powered", and the screen that SHOULD have come up next, which displays the date and time and I can click the "done" button on the screen, didn't. instead, the screen went black, and after a few seconds, the screen with the bar came up again, then the screen reading "palm powered", then the screen went black, etc etc etc.
eventually the battery wore down and it stopped obviously.
how do i fix this?

Assuming that this is still occuring after the battery ran down and you recharged it then there is only one thing you can do, HARD RESET.

You can check at Palm for your specific model as to how to hard reset a device. Normally, you can hold the power button at the same time of hitting the reset button and then release the power button when the Palm splash screen appears and you'll be prompted to "delete" all data and you'll have to say yes and follow the on screen instructions. You can also try a "warm" reset which is hold the D-Button in the Up position at the same time as hitting the reset button - this may work but usually doesn.

I'd guess that either you installed a new program, which is the cause of the issue, or something else caused a corruption in the memory which can only be cleared by a hard reset.
