cats going to toilet in my garden?

does anyone know how to stop cats going to toilet on my grass?next doors cat is forever pooing on my grass,my little boy plays in garden and he is treading in the poo all the time,my hubby said rat poison but im not sure as i dont want to hurt the cat i just want it to stop poo ing on my grass
