catholics? why do some catholics act like protestants in the topic of homosexuality?

and they want to change the homosexual people and promoting groups for celibacy or exodus? I learned the catholic opinion about this fact is a not a sin to be gay but gay sexual acts are really a sin then why do they have to change?
if someone who is gay and doesn't like celibacy is not considered catholic anymore because he doesn't follow that teaching of the church but he believes in the rest of doctrines?
