Catholics: Besides the Bible and the Catechism what Catholic books should I read...

You could try "The Imitation of Christ" by Thomas A Kempis. However, it is probably designed mostly for priests, nuns and other Catholic religious orders. The Catholic catechism is really a must for the most accurate information about the faith. And it can be found herein on the Internet.

Read what the Early Church Fathers wrote: http://www.ccel.org/fathers.html
Tradition and the Church: https://www.tanbooks.com/index.php/page/shop:flypage/product_id/689/keywords/tradition+church/ (Great book, within the first couple of Chapters, you will have a good solid understanding of what Tradition is)

Read the Writings of the Saints, such as The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Mystical City of God (http://www.stjosephpublications.com/books_page.htm ), Autobiography of St. Teresa of Avila, &c.,

Oremus pro invicem

I recommend:
• Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
• Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton
• Letters to a Young Catholic by George Weigel
• Crossing The Threshold of Hope by Pope John Paul II
• Jesus of Nazareth by Pope Benedict XVI

I would recommend these, which helped me come to really understand my faith and want to go deeper into it:

"Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic" by David Currie

"One Shepherd, One Flock" by Oliver Barres

"Catholicism and Fundamentalism: The Attack of "Romanism" by "Bible Christians"" by Karl Keating

Any and all of John Salza's books:

The Biblical Basis of Catholicism
The Biblical Basis of the Papacy
The Biblical Basis of Purgatory
Why Catholics Follow Tradition

Are Catholics preparing for the coming of the Lord?

** If not, see what the Bible says. This is not theory.
