My almost two year old cat (his birthday is on October 30th which is tomorrow so he'll be two then) won't walk on his back legs. Yesterday, the cat was fine. Walking around the house like normal etc. Today I wake up and he seemed fine. When I came home from lunch, the cat was just laying on the floor so I picked him up. When I moved him, he wouldn't use his back legs. He would just "flop" back down on the floor and just lay there. Three hours later I come home and he hasn't moved much from where he was. I was picking him up and putting him back down on the floor in a standing position and his back legs basically just go out from underneath of him. He won't walk on them at all. :/
Even though he is a two year old cat, he has been eating kitten food lately! My mother refuses to discipline him so he eats his own ADULT CAT FOOD so therefore he eats the kitten's food and the kitten eats the adult cat food.
Is that why there is weakness in his back legs? Also I was looking up thiamine b1 deficiency and it says cats can get it if they don't have b1 everyday. I'm pretty sure the kitten food doesn't have b1 in it. . . but the adult cat food does. :/ Is that the reason why?
He's going to the vet in nine hours (as that is when the vet opens tomorrow) but I would like to have an answer now.
