I noticed a swelling on my cats lower lip at the very tip as well as a redness. When I researched this, I found a picture just like it and the diagnosis was eosinophilic granuloma. So, I took my cat to the vet and told her about this condition, which she seemed to know nothing about and said the cat probably got poked with a stick or bitten by a bug on the lip. Now I get the labs back and the eosinophils are slightly elevated at 1066 (ref of 0-1000). Does this seem to be eosinophilic granuloma or perhaps are the eosinophils elevated due to a more common condition such as allergies? Should I be concerned or just see how it goes?
The vet gave here a steroid shot and the lip has gotten better as most things do with steroid shots.
