I've looked it up on the internet but the only thing I have found would be him trying to get attention or him being in heat. He's not in heat though because he doesn't spray and he only does the meow at appropriate times like a regular cat would but it's not a regular cat's meow. And I'm pretty sure that it's not for attention because if so he would be able to meow regularly by now.
Well my orange tabby cat has this really weird low meow like it hurts him to meow and I don't know why he does that. We just took him in a little over a week ago because he was starving. Will he get a regular meow when he gets to a healthy weight? Can you guys think of anything else that could be wrong with him? I'm sure it's nothing too major but I just want to find out if there is something wrong with him that he would need ot see a vet about or something. It's a real low meow, kind of a growl, and it sounds like he has a really dry throat and it hurts him but I know he drinks alot of fluids. Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Will give more info if needed.
