Cashier, a guy job or girl job?

I noticed most of the cashiers where I work are girls. I really don't go to department stores very often so I'm not really sure, but are cashiers generally girls or guys?
 
I've seen both. It really depends on what store you're talking about. It would be really strange to see a guy cashier at like "Bath & Body Works"
 
they are alot of girls that are cashiers and the guys that work at department stores work in the back like in shipping and recieving and stocking the floors with new merchandise.
