Casablanca Appreciation Thread

I love this movie, definitely my favorite movie. I even have two dvd's of it, one is the one disk and the other is the 2 disc.

I adore this film. - "Here's looking at you, kid."

Please add my name to that list. :)

Love this movie. May have been the first movie that I really sat downa nd watched all the way through when I was younger with my parents. Brilliantly done.

I watched this thinking it would be one of the greatest films I ever watched. It wasn't. I really was disappointed.

Neither love story was interesting and Rick was bland. Truthfully the love triangle reminds me of the Notebook and well they did it better... with more emotion.

Just my opinion.

Casablanca. :sigh: What a classic. :D

Can I be added to the fans list. Please? Thanks.

Could you add me to the list?!?!? It was one of the first movies i saw thanks to my mom (has a thing for classics). Bogart and Bergman were both great and though, there are some people that think they should have ended together, i love the last scene.

I just saw this a few weeks ago on TCM and now it is one of my favorite movies!

I love this movie. I saw it for the first time when I took a film appreciation class my first semester in college (three years ago) and just fell in love. I try and watch it at least once a month now. They do not make movies like this anymore.

I know, she's gorgeous.

That was a good part, when Rick sees her again for the first time...

Hi...I just took a little adventure over to the Movie board from my Dawson's Creek resting place and I just wanted to say that I love Casablanca! There are so many classic lines, but I think my favorite part is this part:

Ingrid Bergman is such a classic beauty! :sigh:

I checked the list and was astonished to find that there is no Casablanca thread! So I thought I'd take the liberty.

In World War II Casablanca, Rick Blaine, exiled American and former freedom fighter, runs the most popular nightspot in town. The cynical lone wolf Blaine comes into the possession of two valuable letters of transit. When Nazi Major Strasser arrives in Casablanca, the sycophantic police Captain Renault does what he can to please him, including detaining Czech underground leader Victor Laszlo. Much to Rick's surprise, Lazslo arrives with Ilsa, Rick's one time love. Rick is very bitter towards Ilsa, who ran out on him in Paris, but when he learns she had good reason to, they plan to run off together again using the letters of transit. Well, that was their original plan....

Humphrey Bogart .... Rick Blaine
Ingrid Bergman .... Ilsa Lund
Paul Henreid .... Victor Laszlo
Claude Rains .... Capt. Renault
Conrad Veidt .... Maj. Strasser

Casablanca is rated at number 5 on IMDB's top 250 greatest films of all time.

Let me know if you would like to be added to the list.

This is probably my favorite movie of all time. It's fantastic. The dialogue is clever and powerful, the acting supurb, the cinematography flawless. It's perfection on film. Has anyone else seen this movie? Anyone care to ring in?

What are your favorite parts, lines, scenes?
