Well, let me be clear. I just love to label stuff, but this is going to be a fair game. I've recently saw a pattern in cartoon history that must be told.

How can cartoons be inspired by and leave an impact on subcultures?

When cartoons started, it was all high society stuff (Disney in particular) and the stories was kinda basic. Nothing really subcultural there, until Tex Avery came up with his stuff, obviously inspired by the Jazz philosophy, the first subcultural philosophy ever to mankind. He took advantage of all that manic jazz stuff that we normal people sees as rare, odd or just disgusting. Looney Tunes was born out of that and even to this day, it's kinda revolting to see those shorts (Pepe Le Pew in particular, but hey, that's why we love him, right?).
