You likely irritated the crap out of it by changing the jewelry multiple times. Ear cartilage takes about 9 months to fully heal, and you shouldn't change the jewelry during that time. For now leave it alone completely and do sea salt soaks. Mix 1/8 teaspoon of iodine-free sea salt (located next to the regular salt at the grocery store) in 4 oz of warm water. Soak the piercing with gauze or paper towel dipped in the solution for 5 minutes at a time three times a day until the irritation goes away, and then twice a day. Do not use any antiseptics or ointments on the piercing. This will only make things worse. Do not move the jewelry around or touch it at all, just leave it be. If it gets any worse or does not improve within a few days, go see your local piercer for further advice.
