If you want american, then I know to look at Pontiac Grand Prix, Pontiac Bonneville, and the Ford Mustang.
Most of these 2 brands are very very reliable. My mom had a 93 Bonneville and It lasted 245,000 miles before we finally had to sell it in 2003 over its first mechanical problem. The only other things that we had to replace were the filters,oils and the timing belt.
If Foriegn then look at the Toyota Camry, Corolla, Audi, Volvo, Lexus ES class (Rated one of the most reliable cars from like 1995-2003), Honda Accord,Civic,or most anything Honda.
