Cardio exercise at night makes me not sleep well. Is this normal?

Even just 30 minutes on the exercise bike at night makes me not get a good night's sleep. When this happens, I come home from work the next day dead tired and crash. The exercise is beneficial because it keeps my back from tightening up during the day. But I'm finding it hard to get into a routine where every day I can exercise and get a good night's sleep and go to sleep around the same time every night.
