There is a 1987 Ford E-350 gasoline V8. Especially when the engine is cold the engine tends to cut out when accelerating - quite dangerous at intersections! Once the engine is hotter the problem decreases but still persists, albeit on a lower level. Spark plugs have been changed & CA smog test was passed recently. Carburetor is reported to have been re-built in the past.
Additionally, the starter motor does not spin fast enough when the engine had just been driven for a while. It would then almost not start. It had to be jump-started on a few occasions for that reason. Which is funny, because when the engine is cold the engine starts okay (even though the first problem is there).
What do you guys recommend regards those two problems?
Best regards, Reinhard
