I've noticed that my idle is down 100 rpms to 900 rpms. Also my carb is off just a tad. I can feel it and hear it.
Is there a on-line book that I can go to to teach me how to adjust the carb ? ...or can someone here give me some pointers ?

One of the most important things to remember when ajusting a carb, Is make sure your bike is up to operating temp. Just don't start it it and warm it up. I take mine out and ride it and find a safe spot along side the road to ajust the idle and air fuel mixture screw. Your idle has to be rite before you can adjust afm screw.
 
Sounds like you may have something stuck in the idle jet. Happened to me once and just had to pull it out and give it a good cleanin then blow it out till you can see light thru it and no obstructions.
