...the break it drives help? Hi, I had to manually over ride my shifter to get out of park. it shifts fine in other gears so i'm not sure it's the transmission. and drives fine.
it's like the button on the shifter will not go all the way in while it's in park.
but it does go all the way in when i'm in different gears. i can even go in and out of park as long as the button is all the way in.
does anyone know what COULD be going on. what i should check? or do you know what it is?

2nd answer I did check the manual and they told me to press the dummy button next to the shifter with a 1 inch rod or screw driver. my manual never said anything about the parking break.
