I live in a dwelling tenement building.
Right up against the back wall (literally 50cm from the wall) there is an unmanned (paid by coins) jet car wash. It has been there for several years.
It is open 24/7 which is rather annoying since there is a lot of noise; some of the customers coming (at night) are inconsiderate to the point of having a blaring music playing while washing the car.
On the top of it, although there is a plastic sheet screening off the splashes and aerosol there is inevitable dampness that might be damaging to the building. Actually there is a constant dampness in the cellar sharing the wall with the car wash.
I have a few questions:
1. Is there any norm (in UK or Scotland) stipulating how far from a dwelling building it is permissible to build the likes of a car wash.
2. Is there a law according to which such a car wash has to be closed at night?
3. How do I prove there is a moist damage from the car wash if there is a dispute?
4. If I want to get the car wash closed down, how do I go about it?
